waiting for my "Yes!" moment

As I have previously posted, I am in the middle of making a big decision. I've been thinking about this so much and making a lot of prayers. I have yet to decide. I've had many little hints that have not gone unnoticed, but I feel like I need some big dramatic movie moment. You know the one, where there's suddenly this big huge light, perhaps the sun suddenly popping out from behind a dark cloud and shining brightly on me. This big dramatic music of a revelation in the background. This big clear sign saying, "Hey you, go this way, this IS the right way for you! Don't even worry, it's all good!"

However, this is real life and we don't always get those dramatic scenes in making decisions throughout life. In these moments of pondering about life, I decided to turn to a little book my big sister gave me. She may not even know this, but this book is one of my favorites. Believe it or not it's "The Best of Oprah's What I Know for Sure", it was a supplement to the Oprah Magazine a few years ago. I love reading it every now and then. There's a lot of wisdom in this cute little booklet. In my present dilemma I decided to refer to a passage that Oprah wrote concerning decisions.

She writes, "For me, doubt means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward...When the universe compels me toward the best path to take, it never leaves me with "Maybe", "Should I?" or even "Perhaps." I always know for sure when it's telling me to proceed - because everything inside me rises up to reverberate "Yes!"".

I guess I'm waiting for that "Yes!" feeling. Although I've graduated from the "Should I?" and the "Maybe" to the "Perhaps"(which for me means "I might" rather than "I don't know if I should"), I still need that "Yes!" feeling or sign. I may not get the big huge shining sun or revelation music but I know in my heart that if I am to make this decision, I will get that feeling of "Yes! This is what you are supposed to do!".

  1. I love it...My new motto in life is "don't grab the bull by the horns, be the bull" and of all people in the world that I know, you are definitely a bull. Whatever decision you make, you'll make it the right one, I believe that with all my heart. **hugs**
