back to school = back to work

Today I received phone calls and texts from my coworkers in regards to our start date at work. There has been some confusion as to when teachers begin due to the extended vacation given to students. It seems as though teachers will start this week even though our little students (I teach 2nd grade) will not start school for another three weeks.

There are many reasons why I don't mind going back to work. I like the routine of things, I like having something to do that I also enjoy, and I enjoy chatting with my work friends everyday. But, I kind of have that feeling. You know the one, that feeling you get after a nice relaxing vacation, right before you have to head back to work. I know I've been spoiled. I've been on vacation since the beginning of July. I'm just not looking forward to that annoying alarm going off so early five days a week. This year I'll be waking up even earlier as I have to get not only myself ready, but also my son.

I also get irritated at work sometimes. I love my students, I love my friends, and everyone has always been super nice to me....but...a lot of people do not have good work ethics in my school. And don't get me started on things like organization and communication. But I'm going to try and be positive. We had a new principal start in the middle of last year and in just half a year's time I can see some positive changes. I'm hoping that she'll continue into this year.

It's been fun blogging everyday but once I return to work I probably won't be able to make it a daily habit. I will be sure to blog whenever I get the free time to do so. I love reading other blogs and I love writing about things that I'm thinking about here on my own blog.

So in three days I'll be heading back to work. Goodbye to my nice, long, relaxing vacation, hello Back to School/Back to Work. :-)
