ideas: living room furniture

So what have I been up to during my spare time today?...Looking at ideas for this remodel thing and getting inspired. I have definite ideas that I want to do. I have the floor plan pretty much mapped out. Now it's time to find some pics of furniture that I'd like to use. I decided to start with the living room. I want to present this to hubby so I'll need lots of visuals. Most men just don't get this design/decorate thing, we girls must be very specific and detailed so they get it. ;-) I've read a lot about Overstock.com on some other girls' blogs and decided to check it out. I'm glad I did because it has furniture of all kinds and provided me with a lot of ideas. Here are some of my living room ideas:



I want to get away from the sofa against the wall thing. We'll have a big open space so this will allow us to do so. So I'm envisioning a squared off living room section. I want a sofa, love seat, two arm chairs, end tables, and a coffee table. Our television will be mounted on the wall.



I kinda like this set, the colors are okay, but not my fav. I'm really loving the wall color in this pic though.

I like this set, but I'd have to add pieces to it. The color is one of the ones I've been considering.

The next one is close to what I have in mind. It has a sofa and love seat. I'd find 1-2 armchairs to match up with them, preferably with a pattern of some kind. This color is mocha bean.

Here's the same set in olive, I'm learning more towards this color.

Speaking of armchairs, I found two that I really like. I'd like something like the sofa and love seat set above with 1 or 2 of these chairs. The patterned chairs would break it up a little but yet it would all work and blend together as a room.

P.S. These are all just samples of my ideas, I would definately match up the colors of everything. :-)

Coffee tables are fun. There are so many designs, colors, finishes...how can we chose? Well, I have a couple of things that I look for. First of all, I'd prefer one with two levels. I like the extra storage. The other thing is that even though I found a couple of rectangular ones here, rounded coffee tables are much safer with little ones around. And even though I adore tables with glass, I stay away from those, again because of the little guy. Here's a nice table with drawers, a great way to store things in a non-cluttering way.

This one has an extra shelf underneath. I like the legs on it too.

Since I plan to do away with the sofa against the wall thing, I want to add a sofa table behind my sofa. Here's one that I like. I'm also eyeing up the wall color. ;-)

So I have these pictures collected and ready to show hubby. I plan to start looking at some dining room ideas tomorrow. This is all very time consuming, but so much fun! :-)
