sweaters

I'm a little bit jealous of those who can actually start wearing sweaters. I know, I know, you don't like the cold weather. Well, those of us that live in really hot climates dream about the fall...I know I do. Fall was not my favorite season when I was growing up and living in PA. Sure, I loved football season, majorettes, and all the back to school stuff. But, after I moved to Riyadh I really truly appreciated fall and all it has to offer. We don't really have fall here in Riyadh. I always say that one year not too far away I'm going to go home to the US to visit during the fall. I want to see the colorful leaves, I want to feel the crisp, cool air, and I want to wear fabulous sweaters. We do get cold weather here in Riyadh, but not until a bit later. We're still using A/C here, so you get the idea. And once the weather does cool down enough to wear sweaters, it doesn't take long for it to heat right back up to the non-sweater season. People here joke that there are only two seasons; nine months of summer and three months of winter (winter can actually get quite cold though).

So anyway, I was looking online at all the wonderful sweaters that are out now. There are so many great ones. Let's take a look at a few that caught my eye. ;-)

First stop: Espirit

cool cashmere cardigan

This looks so comfy-cozy!

long sleeved vneck argyle sweater

I have a huge soft spot for argyle. I have no idea why, I just really like it. And I love the grey and the purples together!

short sleeved argyle sweater

I never really got sleeveless or short sleeved sweaters. I mean, if it's cold enough for a sweater, don't you need sleeves? Maybe it's just me, when I'm cold, I'm cold and need all the warmth I can get. However, if I could wear a short sleeved sweater, this one is way cute!

Okay, onto stop #2: Old Navy

argyle vneck sweater

Yes, this is also argyle, but doesn't it look warm and comfy?

button front sweater coat

Love it.

pointelle trim cardigan

I like all the little buttons. This one has a feminine touch to it. You could dress this up with a skirt or play casual with denim. This one comes in more colors.

Our third and final stop today is: Victoria's Secret

I recently found out that they have international shipping...Oh my! That could be a bad thing, I love too many things!

featherweight pointelle scoop neck sweater

I love the pointelle design...pretty. I'm not sure about this color, but they have a few more to choose from.

italian marled sweater coat

This would be so awesome on a chilly day.

Speaking of sweaters...a couple of things I learned from my retail days:

  • NEVER hang sweaters, they will stretch and you'll also get those annoying hanger bumps on the shoulders

  • Fold your sweaters and place them on a shelf or in a drawer

  • Read and follow the care instructions carefully. Some sweaters are more delicate than others and should be handled with care.

To all you lovely ladies that get to wear sweaters now, have fun. I should be able to wear mine within the next 2 months. Yay!

Bye!
