i ♥ purple and green

Remember this?

This is my new first floor which is one large space that will include a living and dining area. Well, hubby and I have been on a hunt to find some new living room furniture and we've had no luck. We want something simple, a bit modern, yet a bit traditional, with lots of comfort. Another issue we have is color. As you can see our walls are two shades of green. I want to incorporate another color to balance with the green. I've had a vision, which means I've come to a decision, which thankfully hubby supports:

Purple and green.

There is just something about these two colors that makes my heart feel super happy.

Obviously, I'm not alone on this as I've come across many images in my search of purple and green combos.

My first wish: I want a purple sofa. The only ones I've found so far are very flamboyant (not what I'm going for). So hubby suggested we design one and have it made. This is something easily done here in Saudi. I'll draw up a sketch of what we want, then we'll go to the shop were we'll pick out the fabric and in about 10 days they should have our custom made furniture complete. I've been looking online for some ideas. I like the sectional in this picture:

I LOVE pillows. I love choosing a color scheme and picking out lots of pillows within those colors. I mix and match patterns and fabrics, too. I'd line up this vintage sofa with some combo like this:

Of course, I will need accents throughout. I found some purple roller blinds and some pretty flowers.

Last but not least, I found this inspirational image via decor pad. It offers a much more subtle version of purple and green. Although I can not do white walls because a) mine are already painted a delicious combo of green which I love, and b) houses that young children frequent should not contain things like white walls. ;)

I'm very excited at the possibilities. I'll keep ya posted. :)
