Happy Mother's day to all the wonderful mothers! Mothers come in all shapes, sizes, and from all over the world. On Mother's Day we honor our mothers, but we also need to remember all of the caregivers who act as mothers for children who may not have their mothers with them.
I have been blessed with the best mother. She raised my siblings and I with so much love. She sacrificed so much and so often went without so that we could have. She taught us how to be kind-hearted, how to respect ourselves and others, how to have good morals and values, and how to love. She has always supported me and instilled such self confidence in me that I was able to do anything I set my mind to. And even though she has not agreed with all that I have done in my life, she has loved me unconditionally. She always says how proud she is of me, but it's really me that's proud of her! Mom, if you read this...I love you and thank you for all you've done!
In relation to Mother's Day, I thought I'd share a very nice song with you. Our students are performing this song for our Spring Presentation at school. It is an Islamic song by Yusuf Islam (aka: Cat Stevens). Mothers are highly respected in Islam. The lyrics are included in the video. I have provided translation for the Arabic words from the song below. You will hear a short introduction and then the song will begin. It's a very sweet song with words that we can all use in regards to our mothers. I hope you enjoy. :)
Translations:
Allah (God)
Rasulullah (the Prophet Muhammed, literally means Messenger of God)
Alhamdulilah (thanks to God)

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!!! : )
