dining rooms

I've been looking at a lot of interior design websites lately. Looking for inspiration and new ideas as I continue to plan for my own home. If I had a large home I would love to go for a big, beautiful, formal dining room. Something like one of these...

love: the chandelier, the flowers, those chairs, and the big gorgeous window

love: the lighting, the doors, the chandelier, the flowers, the chairs, and the ceiling

love: the brightness, the chairs (both designs), and those flowers

love: oh my, I love those chairs! so girly. i'm not sure hubby would like them though...lol

But the fact of the matter is that I don't have a very big home, which is fine...for now. Our current home is the perfect size for the three of us.

So last year was our year of remodeling...you remember...knocking a wall down, tearing up the tile flooring and having new tiles put in, same with the stairs, painting, drop ceilings in our downstairs...oh my, I get a stomachache just remembering it all. It was not a fun time, but I guess it was worth it. This year will be the year of decorating, accessorizing, and finalizing. Because we made ourselves a monthly budget for this we can only do a little each month. So don't mind my constant talk of it all. It'll always be on my mind. :)

So yeah, back to the dining room thing. We have one big open space now where we will section off the living room area and the dining room area. I found a few examples...

Not a bad arrangement. I think it'll work just fine for the three of us. For now we'll go for this cozy arrangement and leave the big, beautiful dining room for later in life. ;)
