colorful summer fun from pier1

So I took off work today.  If you read my previous post you know that little guy and I both got sick this week.  First him, then me.  Btw, I was able to arrange a compromise with his teacher regarding his Star of the Week party and I will be stopping by his class sometime next week to show a Power Point presentation that I've prepare about him and to hand out gifts to all his friends.

So that means I've been home from work for almost an entire week. When little guy got sick, I took off two days to be with him.  I returned to work for one day, while he stayed home with his nanny.  And then when I got sick, so I took another two off.  I hate missing this much work, but I am so glad I went with my gut and stayed home.  I just starting eating again, and it's late afternoon, so I obviously wasn't ready to go back.  For once, I listened to my body...lol.

Yesterday I was online all day.  It was my way of trying to distract myself from feeling sick.  The television works for this but little guy claimed it almost the entire day.  But today, today I feel much better.  And to encourage that feeling I took a little look over at Pier1, something I have not had the free time to do in sooo long.  And OMG.  Is it bad to admit that I was like a little kid in a candy store?  My eyes wide and mouth practically watering?  Yeah, that's probably bad to admit.  But, I absolutely love that place, like totally adore it.

I decided to feast my eyes on all things colorful, cheerful, and summery.  Yeah, it's Spring, but I got my mind set on Summer already.  And since I'm beginning to feel cheerful and colorful again after feeling so sick, it's very fitting.  Here are my colorful finds...

Outdoors...bright colored lanterns, a blue chair with a colorful cushion (or two), garden stools, a colorful stand to keep drinks cold (which btw, could easily be taken indoors if weather wouldn't agree), and some authentic candles.

Indoors...A mirror, wall art, candles, baskets, and a clock.

Special little things...Artsy rings, cute little owl change purses(I heart owls), a girly pot and mug set, and a colorful, playful way to enjoy some ice cream.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm bummed that Pier1 is not here in Saudi, but I can't help wonder if this is a good thing.  It's good for my wallet at least.  Now, your job is to remind me to visit Pier1 during my summer trip home.  My hubby will be so thrilled if you do.  ;)
