shopping for the little ones

When I was five months pregnant I traveled to the US to visit my family. I was on a hunt to find the best baby gear for the best prices. I found great stuff (in addition to all the wonderful baby shower gifts I received). While I was out and about baby shopping I found an AWESOME children's store called The Children's Place. It had just opened in our area and it couldn't have been better timing. Three years later I'm still LOVING this store. As a mom of a child whose closet has been filled with clothes from this store, I can tell you that this is a must-stop-and-shop place for anyone buying children's clothing. They carry sizes newborn - 14 for both boys and girls. Three things I love most about this store:

1) The cuteness...you will find THE cutest clothes for both boys and girls. The coolest boys' outfits, the cutest girly outfits. They also have lots of accessories like shoes, socks, etc. to go along with your picks.

2) The quality...I am waaaaaay picky when it comes to my child and his clothing. I want his clothes to hold up through all the playing and washing, but I want him to be stylish too. This place has both. I've never bought something from here that wasn't of good quality.

3) The prices...I was amazed at how affordable this store was. The original prices are great. But, in addition to that they have GREAT sales with even GREATER coupons. Every summer I go during a sale with coupons (which equals greater savings) and stock up for the following summer. My son is now wearing clothes that I bought for him last summer. I find shirts as inexpensive as $1.99 and shorts $2.99...you can not go wrong with that!

So I was checking out their website today and here are some of my favorites for my son:

I love these beach pants, my son has a pair of these now actually. Perfect for up in the air weather, you can wear them as pants when it's cooler and/or roll them up when it gets warm. Pair them up with a cute polo for a cool look.

My grey fetish continues...hahaha...I just adore these shoes. I found these shorts and sunglasses to match. All I need to find is a "rockin" black tee and we're good to go.

Let's not forget swimming gear. I love how all this goes together. Mommy note: sometimes you will want your little guy to wear a shirt while swimming for extra sun protection and/or warmth.

I love these matchables! My son wears this kind of stuff to bed. It's also great for playtime, traveling, etc.

When he's not wearing the above to bed, my little guy likes matching PJ sets. We prefer the looser, flame-resistant ones like these:

Two must-have items; PJ stretchies and socks. My son has refused to wear footed PJs shortly after turning one, but up until that point I loved these stretchies for him. For the first month or so he literally lived in these. He was a preemie and these were one of the few things that actually fit him. The best part is that they're always on a "3 for" promotion. And the socks are great. They have grippies on the bottoms to keep your little one safe from slipping and falling. I have all tile flooring in my home so this is especially important. My tops favs for little grippie socks are from here and the Gap.

I don't have a little girl...yet....hehehe(maybe one day)...but if you do, or need to buy a gift for someone who does, check out this cute girly girl stuff! How adorable! And there's a ton more.
