Hello everyone.
Sorry I haven't blogged in 4 weeks but I've been very busy. First, let me say that I was a big girl and made the trip from Riyadh to the US with no problems. My little guy was an angel on both flights. And even though he did act up a little during our 3 hour layover, he was GREAT. I was also proud of myself for sucking it up and just doing it. And you know what? It wasn't difficult at all, it was all good. Just goes to show that even though it's okay to be scared sometimes, that shouldn't stop you from living life.
We had a few days of relaxing, visiting fun. It's always great to see all of my family. Then, it was wedding time. My younger brother got married, which was one of my reasons for this trip. I tried to help with last minute details which was difficult considering I have a little guy and my hubby wasn't here to help with him. I did manage to help make favors and decorate and prepare for the rehearsal dinner, which was at my Dad's house. The wedding was very nice. I still can't believe that my brother is married. I still remember him playing with GI Joe. But we had a great time.
We then went to visit my older sister and her family who live a few hrs away. And from there we all took a trip to an island on lake Erie. It was great! But it was bittersweet because my hubby wasn't with us, which leads me to the best part of our trip...
A couple of weeks into the trip my hubby calls and says he will be able to meet up with us! Unfortunately he missed the wedding and the island trip but just to have him here with us was a great, comforting feeling. So after we returned from my sister's, my Mom, my son and I drove the 3 hour trip to the airport to pick up my hubby. It was great seeing him! I just felt this sense of relief and calmness. He really is my rock.
So here we are still on vacation. Because my hubby didn't come until later we extended our trip which means we still have another week and a half. We've been having a great time. We went to the park, my Mom's family reunion and have done so much shopping that it's a wonder the economy hasn't dramatically improved from our visit alone. But the best part is spending time with my family. Sure, with all the technology of today it's easy to keep in touch, but there's nothing like a good sit-down, in-person, gathering with all your loved ones. And don't forget all the yummy munchies and food! ;-)
We have some things coming up in the next few days; a party for my little guy(he's 3 now!), a gathering with my lovely cousins who you may know from the blog world, a visit from my older sister and my nephew, more family time, and more great fun. Time sure does fly by, but I'm glad that I'm here with my family, all of my family, enjoying the time!
I will post again when I'm able...hope you're having a great summer.
