we're back home

After 6 weeks of vacation in my other home, the US, we're finally back to our home here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After such a long journey, it always feels great to finally get back. This time we had a 3 hr drive to the airport, a 13 1/2 hour flight to Dubai, a 2 hour lay over, a 1 1/2 hour flight to Riyadh, a crazy airport filled with tons of people coming for Ramadan (which took awhile with the whole customs/finding our luggage thing), and then a 20 minute ride home. You'd think that we'd just lay down in our bed and crash but actually we didn't. I started unpacking (I know this seems a bit OCD-like, but the sooner you start, the sooner you finish), my hubby went to see his family, and my little guy took a nap (which started in the car from the airport to home). When we all finally did lay down to sleep I think we went into temporary comas. It was one of the deepest and best sleeps EVER! Have you ever tried sleeping sitting up in an airplane chair that hardly reclines? It's not pretty and definitely not comfy, AT ALL! I thank God for my bed at this very moment!!!

We had such a great trip though. We spent lots of good time with my family. It's always hard saying good-bye, especially to my Mom, but I did a lot better this time. My little guy did such a great job adapting and adjusting to all the changes along the way.

I guess I will be back in the blog world now. :-) It's Ramadan so I plan to write a few posts about that. I'm sure many people aren't very familiar with this. So until then, have a great day/night.
