american eagle love

During my summer fun shopping spree, I stopped in at a popular location in our area, American Eagle Outfitters. Now, I must say that up until last year, I never really shopped there. We have one mall in our small city and it seems that every teenager and young adult shops at AE. In fact, they were packed full of people the day I went. I didn't want to have the same clothes as everyone else, and it seemed a little too preppy for me. However, my younger sisters had these cute tops on last summer and when I asked where they found them, they told me AE. I had to check it out. I'm glad I did. Never judge a store until you take a look-see for yourself. ;-) If you want some cute and casual pieces, they have some great ones. And I like their sizing too. Allow me to share:

Oatmeal Henley

I bought this exact one this past summer. They had about four colors and it was hard to pick just one (impulse told me to buy all, but I resisted this time). I loved the detail, there's a bit of lace which makes this henley a lot more feminine. My only problem is I could have gone down a size. I tried to shrink it but of course when you want something to shrink, it won't. But it's okay. I actually wore this today and I layered it with a white tank that has a bit of lace detail. I've worn this with brown cargos before and today I paired it up with denim and some dress casual brown shoes. I love when you can play around with things.

Grey Vneck Tee

This is another one I bought this past summer. I think this came in three colors. I've been on a grey kick for awhile so I went with the grey. I love the waist in it. It's so comfy and yet looks really nice on. I complimented it with silver jewelry. This is something that I'll wear with jeans and my silver low heeled dress shoes. Again, I layer with a dresser tank underneath (I have a white and a grey one that works).

Last summer I bought a hoodie VERY similar to this one but in green. I loved how super soft it felt. And it was a bit more fitted, so despite it's comfyness it didn't look sloppy. Unfortunately, I had so many clothes and things that I didn't have room to bring everything back with me (and that's sad because I had like 6 suitcases and shipped 5 big boxes, I can't believe I just admitted that). This was one of the things I left behind. Our winter here is short so I decided warm weather clothes were priority. But I was reunited with this when I went back home this summer. My Mom kept all my things for me in storage. I was able to bring it back with me this time and can't wait to wear it once the weather gets cold (which will not happen for another couple of mths).

When I was living in the Northeast, I had a nice collection of sweaters and hoodies. It's freaking cold in the winter in PA! But here in Riyadh, it's A LOT different. I think I only own about 4 or 5 hoodies including the two I'm showing you here, and that's more than enough. But this particular hoodie I get more use out of. It's from AE's Aerie line. Okay, so technically this is lounge/PJ wear, but considering we don't have an AE here, I don't really care. Besides, I love this hoodie because it's light weight. I can wear it when it just begins to get chilly. I get enough warmth but not overheated. Also, at work they have the A/C so low that I'm freezing in my office. A hoodie like this is perfect for those moments. Mine is a darker shade of blue than this one. But seriously, if I find this on my next shopping adventure, I may just stock up on some more colors. I love it that much. SO COMFY!!! Also great when paired up with yoga pants for those relaxing at home days.

So those were my successful finds at AE. It's now one of the stores that I must go to every summer. I'm glad I gave it a chance. :-)
