Here is a picture I took while standing in my sitting room. The wall you see is the one we'd like to take down. This will open our downstairs space up to one big room. Currently this wall has two doors (the wide one in front and a smaller one on the right). You can see that our furniture is too big for the spacing of our sitting room. I've talked hubby into holding onto this furniture for awhile longer. We've had it since I moved here but it's in great condition. I actually love it, it looks nice and is really comfy. It'll become our living room furniture after we romodel. Don't mind the toys you may see sneaking into the pictures, they are property of little guy...hehehe.
Here's a picture on the other side of the wall (I was standing in my living room while taking this one). You can see how that wall is kind of in the way.
Here, I was standing in the same place but showing another part of the wall we plan to take down. I'm planning to create a small living area/TV room upstairs with this living room furniture.
Just for fun, a picture of my little guy's car collection....hahaha. He plays "car garage". I let him ride his bike and play with these cars inside. Anyway, once we complete our remodeling, this doorway will be no more because the wall will be no more.
What I'm most excited about is the decorating part of it all; picking out paint colors and new tiles. I hate my walls right now. I didn't want to put too much on them because we knew we'd be changing things around eventually. Our walls are cement so that means drilling must be done to hang up pictures and decor. I can't wait to get this all done so that I can get started on my decorating skills. ;-)
So far plans are to begin next week. We'll be starting with our upstairs bathrooms first. I'll try to do some before and after pictures. Even though this is going to require a lot of work, I'm kind of excited about the changes. Looking forward to sharing them with you... ;-)

oh good luck. remodeling is exciting but exhausting. I didn't even do the work and i was exhausted at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteI love the garage area! That's so cute!
ReplyDeleteWe put together one of those little cars for my nephew recently and it was HARD! "Some assembly required." Ha!
