inspirational journeys

I love quotes. Especially inspirational ones. And it's on really bad days or during trying times that I purposely remember these quotes to keep me going and to keep my spirits high. Here are a few that I've been loving lately...

"Don't compare your life to others, you have no idea what their journey is all about."

This quote comes from my dear cousin's email signature. The first time I read it, I memorized it and thought of it daily. It's so very true. It's human nature to compare your life, your self, to others. Sometimes you think you're not as good, sometimes you think they're not as good, either way it's just wrong to think like that. What you see on the outside is not necessarily what goes on inside. We don't always know the details of the trials and struggles that our family and friends go through. It's not right to assume because we don't always have all of the correct information. Someone may appear to be the happiest, perhaps full of wealth, but is their heart truly happy? Another may appear worn, low on funds, but their heart happy with simple pleasures, and their minds very wise from life experiences. There's always more to the story.

"A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step."

This is one of my all time favorites. You will never know unless you try. All you have to do is take that first step. The journey, the experiences, the wisdom you'll gain will be priceless.

"And what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events, may in fact be the first steps of a journey"

image: Journey, by Wendy Van Fleet (art.com)

This quote comes from the movie, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. How true this is. Many of us can think of a time, a situation, or events that seemed very bad at the time. But without that particular thing or those particular events, really great things may never have come our way. We sometimes have to go through the bad to get to the good. You know, "weather the storm". I personally believe everything is already planned for each of us. God knows everything. So, don't worry, everything has a reason and has been carefully planned just for you.

Hope you have a beautifully bright journey today!!! :-)
