the clock is my enemy

If you're someone like me, who runs late for everything, I'm sure you'll appreciate this:

I swear, no matter how hard I try, I'm always freakin late...ALL.THE.TIME. I don't like being late. As a matter of fact it stresses me out and practically gives me heart palpitations. I scold myself. I lecture myself. I threaten myself. I just can't get it right. This is something I want to SERIOUSLY improve on.

I could sit here and type out a million excuses, some of which are truly valid, but the fact remains that I'm always late.

On a recent ride to work, and YES I was running late (no surprise there), I was lecturing myself on this topic. And then...I did it. And caught myself! I was sneakily taking a quick peak at the clock in the car. As if I was afraid of what it might say. Which means I was afraid of reality, the real time, the late time, the fact that I was yet again, running late. It was in that moment, that I realized the clock is in fact my enemy. So what's the old saying? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I have made a decision...I'm gonna put clocks EVERYWHERE in my house and even one on my desk at work(don't worry there is a wall clock, but I want something starring at me at all times)!

For being enemies and all, there sure are some awesome clocks out there. It'll be fun picking out many clocks to decorate my home with.

And now is a great time for me to do this. As we get closer to the end of our remodeling, new decorating will take place, and I plan to incorporate clocks in each and every room. Including the kitchen.

And as we finalize our 1st semester at work, I feel it's the closing of a not so great chapter at work. I'm looking forward to a fresh new start; at work, at home, and with myself. I've always been able to set goals and achieve them. I've always been able to chase after dreams. I've never been afraid to take that extra leap of faith. So there's no reason why I can't get this one thing right.

I pledge now to make a sincere effort in being on time. Time is always ticking so I'd better tick along with it, not behind it.

Will keep you posted on this one... ;)
