I think I have OCD when it comes to closets and dressers. I'm not sure if this is because I'm a neat freak, or my love of merchandising (from my retail days), or a combo of both. But I can't stand messy drawers or closets. Here's little guy's sock drawer:
On the left are his underclothes (long-sleeve in the back, short sleeve and sleeveless in the front), socks in the middle (in color coded piles), underwear on the right, and misc things like belts behind those.
I had to fold and store all of little guy's winter clothes, and bring out his summer clothes. He has way too many Tshirts.
This is little guy's cheapy closet that I bought for him before he was even born. It's from Ikea and comes with a white curtain. I used a curtain that matched his nursery theme instead. He's 3 1/2 now, I think it's time for a change...;)
I like to organize tops by sleeve length. Here, I started with collared long sleeve, regular long sleeve, collared short sleeve, button down short sleeve, Tshirts, and a couple of jackets (not seen) behind those. I do the same in my closet. I'm weird, right? :) I have done the color coded thing, but it never seems to stay.
I hate wire hangers but I swear I am not a psycho Mommy Dearest...lol. We do own wire hangers, but I try to keep such a huge supply of plastic ones that we don't need to use wire ones too much. The reason I hate them is that they put those bumpy things into the shoulders of clothes. Don't you hate those? I also have an obsession with satin hangers, but that's a different post. ;)
So there you have it. My way of organizing closets. :)

Rue 21 would love to have u back!
