I did manage to find a "new" picture of myself. It's actually from my cousin's wedding over two years ago. Maybe I'll have to play model again and try to take some new pics. But this time no bathing suit shots in the cold snow (sorry, inside joke).
During my photo search I came across some pics I had taken at the end of last school year. I don't remember blogging about these so why not now? Better late than never. :)
Little's guy finishes his school year weeks before elementary, middle, and high school students do. I have thought of being a KG teacher for this vary reason (much better hours, and more vacation time). However, because there are many "teachers' kids" the KG teachers will share the duty of watching over our children for part of that end of year time. I knew the teachers wanted nothing more than student-free days so that they could wrap up all of their work and pack up classrooms for summer vacation. So I thought I'd be nice and try to help a little. A few of the days I sent activities, toys, and treats. One day we did a Thomas the Train theme (little guy is HUGE fan!). To add to the toys and the coloring activities little guy and I made Thomas cupcakes. We are cupcake lovers around here. :)
The toppers were made simply with small squares of card paper, toothpicks, pieces of tape to hold the toothpicks in place, and Thomas stickers.
Also in my end-of-the-school-year archive was a pic of little guy's gifts for his teachers. As a teacher let me tell you how so very special a small gift or even just a thank card means. Teachers work so hard. Yes, we get weekends and summers off, but during the school year we are working full-time at school and at home and never get a cent of overtime. But it is all worth it when a mother, or father, thanks you and and says how much you have helped their child. I truly appreciated little guy's teachers and I was so sad for the year to end. I took little guy to a bath and body shop and we picked out perfumes and lotions for all of his teachers. Then we wrapped them up all pretty with a personalized card for each. Gifts are nice, but words of gratitude are much sweeter.
So that's my random post for today. I'm try to make the next one a bit more organized. Good day! :)

hahahaha... I remember you two taking all those modeling pictures! hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI wish my students' parents were like you. You got them some sweet gifts!
