My life has been keeping me crazy busy, that's for sure. And everyday I think about blogworld...all the things I'd love to write about, all of my fav blogs that I want to read. But there just isn't enough time in a day. So here I am. Ready to share a small recap of my life.

WORK. It's sucking the very life out of me. I've been able to admit to my work-aholic tendencies but it was hubby who had to sit me down and say enough is enough. I'm that person who will never stop. I'll just keep going and going. I guess there are many times when this could be considered a good trait, but when your body starts showing signs of exhaustion and you can't remember the last time you slept more than a few hrs a night, somethings gotta give. These past couple of weeks were especially busy as report cards were due. I have about 77 students and must grade them in 5 subjects, plus other areas such as study skills. Needless to say, it takes some time. I must go back to my old rule. No more than one hour of school work during non-school hours. I'm not sure if it'll work, but I must try.
Not my little guy, but has a lot in common; sweetness, cuteness, energy, and laughter. Image via sheknows.com
MAMA. My second and favorite name. Being a mother keeps you busy, busy, busy. I hate that so many people, mainly here, think that this must not keep me busy because I have a housekeeper. While most families' housekeepers also serve as nannies, mine does not. Yes, little guy calls her "My Nanny" but that is more out of respect. I, unlike many others, help with little guy's homework, play with him, bath him, feed him (ok, so he feeds himself, but I prepare his plate and all), pack his lunch, tuck him in at night, take him to his class every morning, etc, etc, ETC. When hubby and I were discussing the possibility of hiring a housekeeper the agreement was that she would help with the household chores, not raise my child. I am a mother and chose to be. I refuse to let someone else do that for me just because it's the easy way out. And believe me, I'm not complaining about the work of being a mother. I enjoy it. It just keeps me very busy. I think little guy needs a sibling to play with, however now doesn't seem to be the right time.

HOME. So, hubby and I are crazy. We gave our old set of furniture to my in-laws but just asked for some of it back...lol. Don't worry, it was extra for them and just hanging out in the family room downstairs. Also, MIL agreed that we should take it back. I recently posted about our "ouch couch" from Ikea. Well, we've decided to put that into our bedroom and use our "old" set in our living room for now. I love our older set. It's sooo comfy. The only reason we gave it away was because of the color. But now, after moving it back in, it doesn't look all that bad. I even hung up a few pictures today. Our living room is now comfy and cozy. We've been working on some other things in our home as well. Pictures to come in the near future.

BAKING. I've been on a baking kick lately. Sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, cupcakes, brownies...made them all (and some more than once...lol). Christmas is not celebrated here in Saudi, so maybe this is my way of connecting to the holidays. :)

BALANCE. My life long goal. It's so important to find balance. I know that not all things will be perfect. But I also know that not all things need to be bad. Sometimes it's mind over matter. And sometimes we just need to take a step back, look things over, and think of some ways to make our life happier, richer, fuller. This process is never ending, but it's all so important.
Goodnite and sweet balanced dreams,
Kylie ;)

Seems everything is under control. : )
