saudi crown prince, hajj

It seems like forever since I've blogged.  Life has been busy.  Work is never ending.  And life at home is full.  I'm wondering how I'll manage to have time once baby brother arrives.  :)

Things have been happening in Saudi life as well.  This past week, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, HRH Prince Sultan, passed away.

He was actually in the U.S.  at the time of his passing.  He was suffering from cancer for quite some time.  His body arrived Monday night, and his funeral and burial were held yesterday (Tuesday).

In other news, we have a religious holiday coming up.  The annual Hajj or pilgrimage will bring millions of Muslims from around the world to Mecca, where they will perform one of the five pillars of faith (Performing the Hajj is an obligation to every Muslim who is physically and financially able to, once in his/her lifetime).

We will be given a vacation for Hajj.  We actually get about 10 days off.  Let me tell you that this is a much needed and appreciated break...lol.  I have report cards to complete, projects to do (yes, that would be more than one...ugh!), baby things to prepare, an exam to study for, and family time to spend (All three of us are so busy with school/work that our family time is lacking).  So bring on the Hajj.  :)
I'm hoping I can do at least a few more blog posts during this break as well.  I also need to update my pregnancy blog.  So until then, have a good one.  :)
