Okay, we got through colic, we learned how to walk, we transitioned well into solids and regular foods, we just recently said good-bye to binkies, but now...potty training....oh man! This is an adventure, let me tell you.
There are so many "methods", "techniques" and opinions on how to go about this. My son is three and is registered to start school next month. He'll be in lower KG and he must be potty trained. The pressure is on. I waited through last winter because I was advised to not start in cold weather. I traveled to the US to visit my family for 6 weeks over the summer, which was right after I finished the school year, so no time there. So here we are, crunch time. One month before I start teaching another school year and before my son starts school.
I won't bore you with the things I did or didn't try, rather I'll tell you what we're doing. We're basically staying home (except a few family visits here and there), and doing the no diaper, no pull-up, only "big boy underwear" thing. We've had some accidents but we're having some signs of improvement. It's not easy, but I'm trying to stay positive that we can master this one.
I will say that my container of Clorox wipes is my new BFF. And I never thought I'd be so happy to hear, "Mama, I have to pee in the toilet!" in such an urgent voice that I jump from where ever I am, stop whatever I'm doing, and pick up that little guy and run like the wind to the bathroom! It's quite an action moment.
So for now, I'll say goodbye, we'll be running to the bathroom again soon!

LOL.... I saw what my niece was like going through potty training a few years ago. She learned to tell mommy but only after she had done the deed somewhere in the house. : )
