green and brown

I'm so excited because our new floor and paint are now finished in our downstairs. After nearly three months of remodeling adventures, it's great to see such progress. Today we went to buy some much needed items such as a new sink and lighting fixtures (we found something way better than my Ikea idea that I mentioned a few posts back).

So I went over to HouseBeautiful trying to find some inspiration for furniture and decoration. I was happy to read a little piece about green and brown being a great color combination. This is good to hear considering our floor is deep brown and our walls are two shades of green. I love it regardless but it mentioned how well they compliment each other considering how they come from nature (think a tree; brown trunk and green leaves).

Only our colors are way different shades then the above. Our floor is a very deep, dark brown. And our wall colors fit more into this family:

Now, I'm onto thinking about furniture, which we have decided to buy new of. I want a very, comfy sofa. Something like this Ikea one:

I will find some awesome pillows with color to add to this. Can't wait to have fun with that. I have a pillow/cushion fetish. I think this beige color will go very well. But, I'm also looking at the sofa is this grey color as well:

I could definitely make both of these work. Hmmmm....decision, decisions....;-)
