I once wrote a post about Lady Gaga and how I was feeling irritated with all the hype surrounding her.
I don't like a song, a video, or an artist just because it's "cool". I listen and decide for myself if I truly like it or not. I have been involved in the Arts since I was a little girl and I have a deep appreciation for all things Art. So today while watching So You Think You Can Dance I was drawn in by the song, Bad Romance, by Lady Gaga. I decided to check out the video on Youtube and found that the original video is banned here in Saudi (no surprise there). However, I was able to view Lady Gaga's live performance on Ellen.
And while I still don't think wrapping one's self with telephone cords or crime scene tape is something that I would do, I must admit that this girl has talent. She is an artist.
It's interesting that I write this today because earlier, while painting with little guy, I was teaching him that with Art there are no rules. You can create whatever you want, whatever you feel inspired to. Art is cool like that. Some will like it, some may not. But what's important is that you feel it.
So take a look and listen and enjoy.
P.S. Little guy just found my rolls of satin ribbon that I bought today. He has wrapped them around his body and is dancing...uh-oh, perhaps I created a monster. :)
