need a mini vacay...like, now

Last summer, I expressed to hubby how I'd like to take a small mini trip during the winter. We get so caught up in day-to-day life that we need a little break from it all. Hubby agreed. However, as life usually has it, things are easier said than done. Here we are in March, and we have yet to do this mini getaway that I knew we'd be needing.

One of the places I want to go to is in here in Saudi...Mecca.

Little guy really wants to go. And we have not been there since he was growing in my belly. It is so peaceful. I could really use a visit there. There are certain times of the year when it is better to visit Mecca. After the two major holidays, it calms down, there aren't as many people. If we take little guy, we want to be safe and choose a time when crowds are minimal. In the winter months the weather is cooler (Mecca is a hot weather place). Because of hubby's schedule and other things that have come up, we missed our chance to go during the winter months. So I'm not sure we'll be able to go this year. :/

My second choice, is a place I've been wanting to go for years....Dubai.

It's crazy that I've never been there (well, unless you count the airport...lol). There is just soooo much to do there. For us, it's less than 2 hrs away, by plane. There is great shopping, malls that will occupy you for days, great food, and a TON of other things. They actually have a show called "Out and About" where the host/hostess travels all over the city, showcasing all of the things Dubai has to offer.

So, I'm hoping, really hoping, that even for just a weekend, we can get away. I need it. Hubby needs it. Little guy needs it. And it'd be FUN.

On a happier note, only four months until our summer trip to the US. So, if Mecca or Dubai do not work out, we at least have that to look forward to. :)
